There was a slight glitch - a conflict between the weather loading bugfix and the db upgrade. I fixed the release - may want to grab the code again if you got it right after the original post.

Since the update, I’ve had the sad-Picard: “There was a problem connecting to the game. It may be down.”

The game is up, but the web portal has been in sad mode since yesterday. It was trucking right along for several hours, and I want to say it coincided with closing Putty, but that could just be my own faulty memory. I’ll poke at it this evening if this isn’t a “known issue.”

It’s not a known issue. I doubt it had anything to do with closing Putty. Try to redeploy the website (using either website/deploy in-game or the bin/deploy command from the server shell) and make sure there were no errors. If that doesn’t work, check the game log to see if there are any web-related error messages.

Redeployed, but it still has sad Picard.

In-game report:

%% Redeploying web portal. This may take a couple minutes.

My error log has two warnings about fixnum being deprecated for ruby-2.4.1; I can paste them this evening when I get home.

I noticed that the site has the wrong info on it (“Local Test,” “http://www.aresmush.com”, etc.), so there’s a very good chance that I screwed with something yesterday.

I will let you know this evening. Thanks!

Looks like the deployment is ok. When you get the sad-picard, there’s usually some red error text near the heading giving a tip as to what’s wrong. Look for that, and let me know what those fixnum errors were when you get home, and we’ll see what we can do.

I might be a stupid person.

I apparently reset the server.yml and game.yml back to default. I edited them earlier today, and it solved the issue.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE.
