When editing a page on the wiki, I’d really love if there was an (optional) field to include update notes. Much like how github, other wikis, etc. have.
Then, looking at recent changes or even the edit history, you could see at a glance (if the notes are used) what was done. Like ‘Edited to fix typos’ ‘Added a new section about…’ ‘Removed the section regarding…’
Thanks for the suggestion. Certainly understand the desire, from a version control perspective. My experience with game wikis, though, is that folks almost never used the comment field. I scanned through the “Recent Changes” list on a half-dozen old MU wikidot sites (not just my own games either), and out of multiple hundreds of page changes, I could count on one hand the number that had comments attached. I just don’t think that the feature would get enough use to make it worth the effort to implement.
