So, I started tinkering with Ares a while back, and now am going to be going back into it with a small group to build a game. Since they are all pretty new to MUing, I wondered if there was a way to build from the portal since the portal is so user friendly? Is this something that may be possible down the line or just not feasible?

That isn’t currently possible. I’ve looked into it a bit, actually. Just creating and describing a room would be extremely trivial to implement. But I think linking up exits would be pretty clunky from a web interface, because it’s so innately tied to the idea of navigating around through grid rooms. And I’m not sure it makes sense to only implement half of the building experience via web. So that’s where I’m at currently.
